Whats in my bag

First off my bag. I have to mention my bag because its cute and after years of asking Jim finally got it for me last Christmas. I love it though its not a bag I would have bought for my self. This bag is huge!

Its a Epiphanie bag and you can find it and many other cool bags on their site.  http://www.epiphaniebags.com

This sucker will fit my camera body with a big lens attached to it. 2 other lens, speedlite, my white balance target, a couple diapers and a sippy cup with no problem at all.

So what do I carry inside the bag?

My ipad, we don't usually leave home with out it. Having an ipad with kids mean to need a case. Not any old ipad case you need a good case. After having wrecked 1 ipad we went with the Griffin Survior case. This sucker works trust me.

Next in the bag is my beloved Nikon D300
.
I love this camera more then any one every should. It lets me capture my family and our memories. It give me an outlet to do something for only me when my days are so filled with what the kids need and want. I am a Nikon girl. Cannons I am sure are great but my heart will always be with Nikon.

Lens
I always will tell Jim I would rather a new lens then a diamond. Lens to me are what diamonds are to most girls.

 Nikon 35 1.8                                                                            Sigma 85 1.4

Right now in my bag resides a Nikkor 35 1.8. Its a cheap little lens but it works great. Its a great lens to get for some one just starting out. Its great for indoor use.

My true love right now though is my 85 1.4. She is a beast and just awesome. This lens is spendy and probably not the best lens for some one who is just starting the photography journey but non the less its just awesome.  Its perfect for out door shots, but not very good inside the house. Well unless you have a huge room.

Nikon Sb 800
I am a natural light photographer, but lets face it the light isn't always perfect and some times I have to use a flash. Pop up flashes are just bad bad bad. The great thing about this flash is the head swivels and I can point it behind me. When I am able to bounce a flash off the wall behind me it results in much much better pictures.

The Expo Disc, This is for setting white balance. You know at night when you take a picture inside and it turns all yellow. This corrects that issue. Honestly I don't use it at home with my kids, but when I go on a paid photo shoot I use it.

Some not so fun stuff that are always in my bag.
  • My phone.
  • Battery Charger
  • Wipes
  • Diapers
  • At least 1 sippy cup.
  • Candy (to bribe the kids)
