Our Story

So way back in 2003 I walked in to a midget wrestling show with some friends one of those friends invited his friend to come along and well the rest is history. 8 months later we were married on a wet cold day in August.

We both knew we wanted kids so we started trying right away. The next 5 years were filled with a PCOS diagnosis, shots, doctors appointments and every infertility drug on the market. Only to be crushed and more broke month after month. Nothing worked one day I walked out of that infertility doctors office and vowed never to return to him again. I made an appointment with another infertility doc. In that first meeting with him he looked me right in the eye and said I can't and wont treat you until you lose 10% of your body weight. Crushed I walked away from him to but he lite a fire under my ass. That summer I lost 60lbs way more then 10% of my body weight. I had all but given up on having kids. I was loving losing weight and wanted to work on just getting healthy for my self.

Fast forward to June 2008. I woke up feeling just off. On a wim I asked Jim to pick up a pregnancy test for me before he left for work. He not so happy about this task did as he was told ran to the store got the test and threw it on the counter and walked out the door. Not a word was said to me. He and I had been through this many times. I had probably taken over 100 test in the last 5 years. He had no hope and honestly neither did I. We weren't even trying. The second he shut that door I sprung out of bed and peed on that stick. After 5 years of trying and waiting I saw that little word pregnant.

9 super long months later, 48 1/2 hours of labor, and 3 1/2 horrible hours of pushing Carter was born a perfect 7 and half pound. We couldn't have been more in love. We were head over heals in love with our little boy but we always know we wanted more then one kids. When Carter was 8 months old we decided to start trying for another. Knowing it took us 5 years to get pregnant with Carter we thought we were in for the long haul again. Only 2 months later. I was pregnant again.

At 19 months old Carter became a big brother to his new baby brother Oliver. Oliver labor and delivery was awesome I opted for a scheduled c-section. Oliver did decided to grace us 4 weeks early but you wouldn't know he was over 8lbs. Life was great for about the first month of Oliver life after that he made life a living hell. Let just say colic was a bitch. I don't think we were thinking because in the midst of colic hell we decided we needed to try one more time. Before we officially started trying I took a test and bamb again pregnant again.

At 19 months Oliver became a big brother. Our perfect little girl was born. I would like to say Cora's birth was roses and sun shine but reality is it wasn't. It was May 4, my moms birthday. I had been spotting a tiny bit for about a week. My doctor had reasurred me that it was fine it was only a tiny tiny bit after all. So May 4th I took the boys to Target and then to pick up flowers for my mom for her birthday. We took the flowers to my mom who was at work and I told her I just didn't feel right. While there I used the bathroom and noticed I was bleeding even more, though it still wasn't much. I took the boys home unloaded them from the van and went strait to the bathroom. Still sitting on the toilet I called Jim and told him he needed to come home now. Still saying it probably wasn't a big deal but we needed to get to the hospital and at least get checked out. With the boys I had been to the hospital many times in false and preterm labor so this wasn't nothing new and I assumed it was nothing. We had a problem my mom was working and it was her birthday and she had plans to go out that night to celebrate. We had no where for the boys to go. Jim called his mom she wasn't answering. Finally after 30 minutes we tracked her down. She said she would take the boys. Problem was that she lives an hour away and not in the right direction. We had no choice we drive the boys to her house and finally hit the road for the hospital. We get stuck in nasty traffic but finally get to the hospital 2 hours after we left home. Within an hour of being at the hospital I was in the OR. It was an emergency and they had to get her out right then. Cora was born May 4 at 33 1/2 weeks gestation. We weighed a whopping 4lbs. She came out not being able to breath well enough master the whole breathing thing with in 24 hours. She had tubes to drain all the blood she had swallowed while she was still in me. Then came down with extremely severe jaundice. She had to learn to eat and maintain her own body temperature. It didn't take long though because 9 days after being born she was released to come home. She was tiny and stayed tiny until about 10 months old. Until then she was always at less then 10% on the normal charts. At right around 10 months old she bounced right up to 50%. Cora is now 1 and a happy, healthy, sassy, perfect in every way, 1 year old at that. She completed us she made our family whole.
